Sketchbook/ self set projects

Just another update of some sktechbook work i did today. Havent drawn for a while so thought id draw a sheep and come up with some sheep based puns..in the hope of starting my  own sticker led tag mission around the city.
I also got my first film developed from my "morning photos"...ive set myslef a task to take a photo of myslef every day for a year...the end result will be astounding and itll be amazing to see how much i change in a year.
couple of undeveloped shots but oh well...im doing it on disposeable cameras to rduce the second guess factor the flash usually wakes me up good.

Photomontages

Over the last month or so ive found myslef straying into a new way of thinking - namely photomontage.
Ive found myslef influenced by the ideals of DADA and inspired to create photomontages which combine my own photography, found imagery and text in the form of letraset.
Here's a batch of recent work fresh from my sktechbook.

Abandonned sugar beet factory

The sugar factory in Ipswich was built in 1925. It was closed by British Sugar 76 years later. There are plans to turn the entire site into a housing with nature reserve.
Derelicte

I remeber the smell of the sugarbeet when i was growing up...every summer the smell of burning sugar would fill the air. I nostalgicly miss that smell. the sight of the silos always welcomes me home from a long jounrney with the family as we come off the bypass.

I find it such a beautiful sight to behold and its something ive always known in my life back home.
I visited the site over chirstmas, snow liad acorss every surface, Suffolk punch horses grazing in the open plains.
To me it feels like the death of industry, the loss of jobs and a landmark.
I really enjoyed exploring the site, it really warmed me inside seeing it upclose for the first time.
many thanks to David Stickland for accompanying me and adding his own insite.

Recent SLR

Some shots i took towards the end of last term after our exhibition and some things i came across whilst home from uni. A couple of photos at the end of the film were at the start of my Sugarbeet factory visit which I'm in the process of scanning too.
